Cable Management - Home Theater

I've lived in a few apartments and always seem to struggle finding a good way to keep cable's clean and neat. The biggest problem I generally encounter is when running wiring from the rear surround speakers to the AV receiver. What products do you use to keep it looking clean and neat? Is there anything that helps hide the cable? I have used wall mounts in the past to run the cable along the wall.

I'm looking for something that can conceal more than just a foot or two of cable.

buy a flexible tube, split it and then feed the cable in it to keep it out of the way.

I've also done this in the past using wire loom. It still isn't very appealing, IMO.

You can't really do much for the rear surround speaker wires. Perhaps running it under a carpet to conceal it? Another way is to staple the wire along the baseboard of the wall (I have white insulated 12-gauge speaker wire so that it blends with my wall color). Or you can bundle up the wiring and run it straight down one side of the room for the surround speakers.

You can go with wireless speakers and cut in new power outlets, or run the wires below the moldings/carpet to the speakers.

Another method is to run the cables in the basement/attic from entertainment system to speakers.

Tape it down and live with it is what I'm doing. It looks "sophisticated" (nerdy). Just run it along the carpet or if you have the time, put it in the floor or walls. I'm not comfortable running wires under a carpet. Not just the non-existant "fire" hazard, but I sit on it and don't want the bump.

A couple things I have seen are modesty panels in the front and floor and crown molding with a little hidden pipe to run wires in

i forget what they are called but you can get these tacks that have like an "L" shape to them that you can take into your rug or floor that will hold a wire down, just rth the wire along the wall where it meets the floor and its all good, does not look that bad
