Cable internet

It looks like it is out now. link I think the HW was just released recently so depending on where providers are at in their refresh cycle for their current HW it might be awhile. I am going to guess at least a year if not 2 before you start to see it in production.
 
I read where they may start trials by the end of this year. Comcast in particular. From what i'v read they have decided to really accelerate the rollout of this.
 
I know that they have already started to rollout it in places with FIOS in the areas. When do you think that they will offer it in more mainstream areas? They said they have already started the 16Mbps service. I am more interested in the 150Mbps service. Do you know if it will require a new cable modem or even router to be compatiable with it?
 
You will definitely need a new modem to bond channels together for DOCSIS 3.0 and while a current router will be able to work, it will not be able to move packets fast enough to take advantage of a 150Mbps service.
