cable internet, static or dynamic ip?

is cable internet a static or dynamic ip? or does it depend on your provider?

Most say it's dynamic, but for me (Comcast) it's been damn near static.

i have Road Runner, its dynamic but only changes every 4 months or so

mines dynamic but it keeps renewing the same IP for years.

Dynamic, but it takes months for me to get a new IP, so I guess you'd call it static-esque 🙂

It's quite simple if you have a router.. All I do is just "change" the router's MAC address. It works for me, don't know how other ISP's authenticate.
