i have comcast internet. when i check the modem's signal page, the connection is pretty weak. once in a while there will be an internet drop or two. can my isp do anything to fix this issue besides changing some cables? should i give them a call and see what they can do about it?

Calling them is worth a shot. Years ago when I first got my cable modem, the installer couldn't get it to come online. He checked the signal strength on the cable feed coming into my house and it was crappy. So the cable company came out and ran a new line from my house back to the nearest cable box. Not only did my cable modem work fine after that, some of my TV channels looked better too. What's your SNR? My SB4100 is reporting 36 or 37 dB.

power level should be between -15 and +15 ...yours is definatly too low....probably too many splitters or something
