Cable Internet Connection doesnt work!! Help!

Okay,

almost every time i reboot my system my cable internet stops working (diagnostics say gateway not detected). then either i have to reboot again or just use other pprograms for a while and then suddenly the internet is working again. i dont understand whats going on. can anyone help?
