Cable gateway is 10/100...Gbit switches or not?

At home I have cable modem gateway with 4 10/100 outlets, from there I have 3 going to 4 port 10/100 switches.

My question is, in trying to increase speeds, would it matter if the switches were 10/100/1000 or not? PC has Gbit. Cable speeds are like 20 down 3 up.

Or should I investigate the concept of a 10/100/1000 cable gateway? Not sure if these are even made.

Also, consolidate the switches down to one bigger 10/100/1000 switch. It will eliminate the need for traffic to flow across the uplinks.
