My Cable connection just dies when i do any big download like it will just stop in the middle of downloading. my ISP is Time Warner Cable and i have a netgear rougter with a linksys modem i have replaced all the cable. it does it on any of the computers on the LAN.

i have tried everything and i still have no clue. time warner comes out to check it out but they can not figure anything out.

EDIT: I changed the rougter and modem and it still does it but if i disable the connection and reinable it it runs fine? i have no clue

Thanks,

Jordan

Plug a PC straight to the modem and download a file that has killed the connection before.

If it succeeds then there is something wrong with the router. if it dies again, it's possibly the modem, try to find another modem to test with. Are you downloading these files from filesharing websites like Rapidshare, ect.? Or are you getting things like Linux distro's from reputible sites?

If you are downloading a lot you may be throttled.
