I always thought of a cable box like a car or a gun in the idea that it isn't illegal to own, or even use within the contraints of the law but if you go past that then you are breaking the law. For example, if you tell the cable company you have your own box and you want hbo, then you pay for it and you watch it, if you descramble 10 more channels for free then its illegal, in the same respect that you can drive a car within the speed limit and be fine no matter how fast it is capable of going, but if you do 125 you are breaking the law.

BostonRedSox, how old are you? And would ti be ox for me to steal a government tank...after all, I paid for it!

Why is my age and ox's being brought into the thread?

Because those that usually think thats its ok to steal or they think they know everything are the younger ones. And what about me taking a tank? I paid for it.

Quote where I said it was ok to steal. You won't be able to, because I never said that. I said it's not illegal to own a cable descrambler. Yes, it's illegal to USE the descrambler, as everyone knows. If you feel it's your perrogitive to take a tank, be my guest. The repercussions you may suffer from those actions may not be to pleasant though.

Why the hell would you buy one if you arent going to use it? By saying someone should get one, you also imply that they should use it, thus it being illegal.

So your argument is ridiculous. For what reason would you own a descrambler if not to steal cable? What are you going to do with it? Carry it around and show it off? Look at it? Take it to dinner?
No, if you buy one, you are going to steal cable. And the tank analogy is ridiculous, btw, whoever came up with that. It's obvious why that's illegal. And yes, I know that person was being sarcastic.
