Current setup: win98se, sprint broadband wireless, netgear r311 router, linksys 5port switch, 2 computers in seperate rooms and want to add a 3rd computer.
From hybrid modem to router internet port---crossover cat 5
From router local port to linksys switch uplink port---crossover
From linksys switch to each computer---straight
I want to add a 3rd computer that is close to the second one which is connected to the linksys switch with a long cable (straight). If I add another linksys switch at the second computer, what cabling would I need?
From linksys switch 1 to linksys switch 2-- use the current straight cable to uplink port or the other port?
From linksys to computer 2---?
From linksys to computer 3---?
Still trying to learn this network stuff, thanks for any info.

Take a straight through cable... Plug it into the Uplink port on the new hub, then plug that to one of the ports on the other switch. (Do not plug this into the uplink port on both switches.)... That should work... You might want to experiment first.....
