Cable connection gone to hell with digital

so my question is how can i boost the connection provided from the cable company? since i just got digital cable and everybody in the damn house has to have a tv and a computer the connections have totally gone to sh*t. everytime i open up something in IE the tv flickers. so how can i possibly fix this problem? getting rid of tv's and computers are completly out of the question. does anybody have any advice other than getting signal boosters? i guess my other question is do signal boosters even work? if they do what brand do you recommend?

And what exactly is illegal about wanting to have a better picture on cable TV service that he pays for? Last I checked, signal amplifiers were perfectly legal to use to boost the signal going to TV's on a cable line... It's not like he's asking for a way to uncap his cable modem.

WTF?

My cable company put on signal boosters throughout my house when they set-up my cable service.

I think the rub is that the boosters can only be on the lines that run the TV, the internet signal will not transmit properly through a booster. Or so the dude that put all my stuff said.

yeah no kidding, i'm not talking about hacking nodes or anything. i just want to figure out how to get a cleaner signal inside the house. do i need new cable a better splitter etc. . . i mean my parents can't even get the channel 4 news because the signal blows so much.

WTF is right! There is absolutely nothing illegal about a signal booster. When I first got my cable it was really slow so I had the cable company come out and they strengthened the signal from the box outside.

Just call them and tell them to fix it. They will....

In my opinion, the ideal setup would be to have one splitter as soon as the cable enters the house.... with one line going directly to the cable modem, and the other going to the rest of the TV's. Immediately after the split going to the TV's, put something such as this Radio Shack cable amplifier: Bidirectional CATV Amplifier for Up to 4 TVs. This should boost the signal enough to make your TV's watchable again. If you have more than 4 TV's in the house, just run a splitter after one of the outputs on that amplifier to go to the other TV's in the house.

Of course the best way to fix this would to be to have your cable company come out and take care of it. They'll have the equipment to check what kind of signals you're getting at each of the TV's and at the cable modem, and should be able to set you up with any signal boosters that might be required.

Good grief. Do we need to set up donations to have the stick removed from your ass? First you're claiming it's illegal to play loud music at 6:30pm and now you're saying signal boosters are illegal.
