Seems pretty unfair to me that it's just left up to the cop, instead of using a sound meter.

No kidding. Leaving things like that to someone's discretion means it's an enabler for selective enforcement, i.e. racism. I bet if some paleface starts pounding out "Welcome to the Jungle" the cop isn't gonna even move, but as soon as he hears anything sung by someone with skin tones darker than the color of a peach he's gonna be all over that.

Paleface... what the hell, am I channeling Sitting Bull now?

Woo hoo! The completely and utterly moronic pull off of the race card. Bravo!!

Take your stereotypes and shove it. Every driver is different. There are laws in place to enforce the situations you've described as well. How does it apply to the topic?
sorry but in a ricer thread all stereotypes are out in the open because this thread is based on a stereotype. In regards to the topic, I was pointing out that as usual we sit around trying to prevent things such as loud music and underbody lights which may have nothing to do with racing at all, which everyone makes the stereotype that it is, while dangerous drivers drive around threatening my life (cell phones, not knowing how to drive, period) without me even doing anything

oooh. I never had a front plate on my car. It was missing when I bought the car. Not that I would put it on. I think front plates are ugly.

they are ugly and almost useless. Isn't california one of the few states that have the front license plate law? Not surprising of course, I mean how many times do you need to see the front license plate.

Everyone there drives manically anyway. At least here most of the rice tastic homos keep their shanagins contained in the grocery store parking lots.

You know, ricers can make fun of computer case mods... if they cared.

Don't be hatin'. To each their own.
It was already determined in another thread that case mods != rice.

It should be legal to run people with blue headlights off the road and beat them. I hate the glare from those damn imitation bulbs.

Most of those laws seem reasonable to me.

And the CHP is doing a nice service by having one page that consolidates all those laws into one reference.

I personally think we should start the shooting with people who drive with only their parking lights on!

I think the reasoning behind this is that when people use blue or red lights they can be confused for emergency vehicles in the rearview. Most states have similar laws.

That sounds interesting, which thread might that be?

The laws aren't against customizing your car. You can still put wheels, body kit, new paint, etc. It only becomes illegal when it becomes a nuisance to the public. I pretty much agree about all the laws except modding the engine and the exhaust (only because we don't enforce it equally between motorcycles and cars).

One thing I have a question about is, how do these laws apply to out of state visitors? Say I visit california (whihc I do once a year), and a cop pulls me over, can he write me a ticket for not having a license plate on the front of my car, and tinting on my front windows? How would I fight this?
