Ok I filed my CA tax return Jan.25th and it was accepted by CA on the 28th. Its now been about 40 days since they accepted it, when the heck is CA going to start refunds?? I know they finally got a budget last week....Every time I goto the check your status web page, it says cannot complete requested action or something like that...

They're just paying us back with the increased tax bill (mostly from the car tax).

Yeah I heard about that. So instead of paying $150 to register my car is will be like $400. Heck I just wouldn't register then, it will be alot cheaper just to take a chance and get a ticket for $100 :)

CA registration is $150? Wtf, that is CHEAP compared to some other states. Even Montana here was about $180 for my 10 year old truck (though we have no emissions or safety inspection crap).

Don't they impound your car, causing more fees, and still force you to pay the registration?

No joke. In NE I pay $600 a year for my truck alone.

Yes. My mother got pulled over on the highway for having expired tags. I don't know what my dad was thinking, but apparently he just misplaced registration form and never renewed, and then forgot about it.

CHP requested a tow truck, the car was towed, and my mom got a ride in the back of the cruiser to the nearest exit. The fees were through the roof for towing, a day's worth of storage at the parking lot, and for registration renewal.

CA has no money to pay your refund.
Your particular refund was spent on Ahnolds breast reduction surgery.

You have to realize that no matter the size of the tax/fee, people will ALWAYS complain about it.

Every car is different. I had a car that was $60 to register and my newish car is $280 to register.

Has anyone received their refunds yet?????? This is getting outrageous.
If not, has anyone heard when we'll get them?
