Woohoo! I got a kool hundred to spend my heart out.

Nah! It's nothing. We all know the lawyers again made a killing. :|

Anyway, for CA peeps who submitted claims like 3 years ago...yours is on the way.

Here are some of the original thread dealing abt it:

Peeps who included original receipts for qualified items when they submitted their settlement claim will get their check.

For others who did not submit any and are part of the settlement on the class action will receive a voucher. They have to send the original receipt for qualified items purchased after July 18, 2003 to the present to get their check.

Read your voucher for the list of qualified items.🙂


Vouchers can be donated to charities.

You can sell that voucher too...it's legal. Read the fine(large?) print.


I'll buy those vouchers for 50% off or you can just give it to me cuz I'm a charity case. j/k :laugh: 😉

You can submit the original receipt for items bought after July 18, 2003 until September 16, 2010 to obtain your cash refunds.

Original receipt should include the product name, amound paid and date of purchase.


Qualifying Computer Software:

Any standard, publicly available software(including software not published by Microsoft) that is designed for use on a desktop, laptop or tablet computer.


Qualifying Computer Hardware:

*Desktop, Laptop or tablet computer
*Printers
*Monitors
*Scanners
*keyboard
*mouse and trackball

Items on the list don't have to be made by Microsoft.

Got 4 comps that I upgraded endlessly with these stuff:

Software included: Microsoft operating system software includes MS-DOS, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows NT for workstations and versions of these products. Microsoft applications software includes Microsoft Word (word processing), Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet), Microsoft Office (a package of software which includes Word and Excel) and Microsoft Works Suite and Home Essentials 97 and 98 (packages which include Word).



I got a measley hundred bucks.🙂

 
Haven't gotten any check yet, but I did get a letter the other day saying that I am "entitled to $229.00 in Settlement Benefits." But in order to see any benefits, I have to send them proof (i.e. receipt) that I purchased any of the following after July 18, 2003:

1) Any standard, publicly available software (including software not published by Microsoft) tha tis designed for use on a desktop, laptop or tablet computer.

2) Desktop, laptop or tablet computer; printers; monitors; scanners; keyboards; or mouse or trackball.

Who the hell keeps receipts for these kinds of stuff they purchased 3 years ago? I still have a couple receipts for recent purchases because the manufacturers warranty hasn't expired, but others I've thrown out because they have expired. I know I purchased at least 4 software programs (Norton anti-virus/SystemWorks, Web Root Spy Sweeper), 3 printers, 2 all in ones, 2 keyboards, 2 mice, and 2 lcd monitors.

No way to prove it since I threw out the receipts. Bastards. :|

I'm in the same boat. I got one for $90, but the receipts are long gone.
 
hi all,
remember if you are looking for invoices and you've been shopping at newegg or buy.com or most online retailers, you can print out an invoice for any purchase from their website which is what I am doing. i have invoices dating back to 2001 at newegg.

Just buy some more stuff because they need the original receipt.

If that is hard to do...you can donate the vouchers to charities.

if you bought stuff from newegg, just login to your account, then look for invoices from the past, print them out and you're set. those are "original" receipts so those should be fine.
 
I got a voucher for $55, but I thought mine said I needed to submit receipts for microsoft software, so I tossed it. My brother in CA got a voucher for $110, and it's good for any hardware or software bought in the past 3 years.

Good way to get the check and use it to buy something aside comp stuff...like food.🙂

 
If anyone want to donate to a charity, I run the tech dept at my church and provide systems to those in need. I can mail a receipt for tax purposes 😀

I have a voucher for $95, but it too seems to ask for MS receipts. Help me out here..

Do they need to be MS receipts, or can they be for any computer product? I never bought MS software from Newegg, besides an OEM copy of XP Media Center.
