<< Anyway, I was just a little distressed by the fact that some people seemed to feel that the convicted's political views were enough to justify the sentence and so I decided to play the Devil's Advocate. I'm done now. >>
Well, in all honesty, their political views and attitude in general probably did have some bearing on the outcome of the case (Knoeller was interviewed shortly afterwards, and was the most cold, unrepentant biotch ever.....it was creepy). This seeming lack of concern along with the training of the dogs were what essentially did them in. The thing about dogs is: you can train any dog to be mean...hell, there were miniature dachshunds I couldn't get my hands on when I was a vet tech. It's just that some breeds have been bred to be agressive already (in this case Canary Island dogs)....then you cross that with a mastiff to add size (now you have a Presa Canario....the breed that killed the woman)....and throw in training to make it a killer. It's one thing to have a "mean" dog, but it's another thing entirely to intentionally create one.
For the record, I am a "dog person" and have three of them.😀
