C7 camarovette leaked

The unveiling is up to 2 years away. There is no way GM has settled on final design at this point. This might be an accurate depiction of a concept design, but I highly doubt the actual production model will look much like this. There appear to be too many lines and creases in this design for it to make it to production as a GM vehicle even if it is the ZR1 model. I also can't see the Corvette inheriting design cues from the supposedly lower end Camaro as the rear lights would indicate.

It doesn't look anything like a GT-R. Which is a good thing, since the current gen GT-R looks hideous. The design of the R34 was the peak for the GT-R line.

What? It looks nothing like a celica 😵
And I can guarantee you it would eat a celica for an appetizer 😀

Yeah. That's kinda ugly. But then, Nissan is good at that. The 350z and 370z are meh, the cube, Juke, and even their minivan are D:

2nd pic looks like a celica without the hood bump and spoiler on the back. I have no doubt it will eat a celica for dinner but who is talking about the motor.

i dont see many similarities beyond the color and the break in the fender behind the front wheel personally. the renderings look horrible to me, and the angle of the pic makes the butt look huge in the OP. i think its a good looking car too. but, i like the gtr as well. the vette lines rise in the back and the gtr slopes down in the rear. i like that look. the vettes have always had that rising line towards the rear, its one thing that makes it stand out. i also dont like the photoshopped "vette" rear window on it, makes it look weird to me.

Look's pretty nice. Definitely evolutionary, but still looks like a Corvette. More interested in what's under the hood though...

I think it looks OK. Ultimately it's going to be up to the performance and refinement. People will get used to the look. GT-R isn't much of a looker either, but many people drool over it because they know what's under the sheet metal. Same is true for many sports car. Ultimately it's performance that defines what people associate with a design.

I'm going to say the only people who like that don't actually like Corvettes, eg: the people who want to see it turn into a Euro-Japanese car.

if that were really true here in the states, there wouldnt be corvettes with less than stellar stock engines, v6 mustangs or v6 chargers (do chargers come with a v6?)

ill go further and state that people that like this may also like the eiro-jap cars, but people that hate this due to the style are either purists for the brand or people that dont like change.

When the C6 came out, a girl I know who had a 3000gt turbo posted a picture on Facebook and said she never thought she'd like an American car, but she loved it.

The halo car with the top engine is what sets the brand image for the car.
If there was no Mustang GT associated with the look, people would not like the V6 Mustang's look as much, even if it was identical. A good example of that is the Stingray Corvette from the 70s. It looked great but the image is tarnished by the lower powered engines of the time. People see that car and first thing they think is weak sauce.
So if the halo C7 that looks like this has good performance, people will associate the look with that performance and like the look, and they will like the look on the lower end models too. This is why halo product is so important, even if it's low volume.

This is not a concept. This is the actual thing according to Jalopnik.

It is a sketch, it is not the actual thing until it is a the production model sitting on the lot. Cars change a huge amount between the original design and the one that actually gets produced, sometimes even relatively close to the production date. I'm sure we'll see elements of this but I won't be surprised if some of the design elements are watered down or removed.

And because people like me, who hate domestic automobiles and their 1/8th assed designs/engineering, like this kind of styling will ensure that this never makes it off the page. This will outrage too many of the hardcore Corvette fans to go beyond some ink.

Good, we don't need more ridiculous Hotwheels and Transformers inspired vehicles that only a 15 year old boy could love.

Plenty of good domestics out there, they just aren't as cool to brag about. People just like to hear themselves say "Mercedes" and "BMW" out loud in crowded public places instead of "Ford" or "GM" and would pay more for a C200 than a CTS-V for that purpose alone.

So I'm instead supposed to love what you have as your avatar? Big, boring looking chunk of steel that can't take a corner? Lovely, I'll pass.

I'm not telling you what you should love. But too many people buy cars based on what they think other people love (eg: something fasionable and trendy even if it's not really the right car for them).

Big, boring looking chunk of steel that can't take a corner? Lovely, I'll pass.

Typical.

Ignoring the fact that the car does turn quite well (I've purposely degraded lateral grip for straight line traction in my choice of tire alone by no fault of the car itself).

How many 200 mph hair pin left turn lanes do you take driving to work?

Love people who talk about Formula 1 cars and "taking a corner" when they drive their 100,000 mile worn out 318i back and forth to work in straight lines every day.

See I'm not biased like you. My 3 car "attainable dream garage" is a Ford ('03 Cobra), a Toyota (MkIV TT), and a BMW (E46 M3).

Don't make me bring out Corvette, Viper, Ford GT, CTS-V, G8, any SRT-8, 2011+ Mustangs, and probably more that I haven't paid attention to out of personal taste.

Unless you just like to compare high dollar import lux brands to cheap economy fleet cars like a 90s Taurus or Impala, sorry can't help you there. You'll just have to learn to get over the 80s and 90s by yourself.
