C64 as webserver

What a serious misallocation of resources. He should be using that thing to play California Games. :frown:

LMAO. I spent hours with that game! I spent hours on tons of other games, too. Lode Runner, Jump Man, and Wizard (or Wizards?) were my favorites. The C64 was one of the best gaming systems out there, even for a short time after the Nintendo and Sega Master System came out.

OH MY!! :Q...i think that's pretty awesome to be able to do something with such an old piece of junk...
the C64 was awesome back in the day..hehe..loved it!...gaming on it rocked!...

Damn thoose were the days BBSing over my 1200 Baud Modem:Q

1200 baud OWNS YOU!

That's pretty impressive! Yes, I'm a geek too.

I love C64 🙂! i used to have one. The OLD version I might add! With BOTH cassatte-deck and disk-drive! Ah, Beach-Head, Alter Ego, Bruce Lee... Those were the times 🙂

Gee. All these people talking like the C64 is a piece of junk. There's more do this machine than there appears (and my C64 with 1mhz cpu and 64k of ram could do stuff I've never seen an 8088 do).

I've still got in my closet at home:
Commodore 64
Commodore 128
Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer II
Texas Instruments TI99/4a (with extended BASIC cartridge)
Apple IIgs

When I get more space I'll be adding more to the collection . . . 🙂

You were a lucky dog! I was stuck with the 300 baud modem! 😱

I really miss Lode Runner, Beach Head, and all of the Infocom games...sigh.

Dave

<< I gave my C64 to my grandfather years ago. But I still go over and use it occasionally. 🙂

BTW, does anyone still have the cassette drive?

I've got one I bought off of Ebay a long time back. I think it's broken but I haven't messed with it in a while. I've also get one of the 1571 disk drives (think that's the one. it's the newer 5 1/4" that was with the C128). I'm lacking a powersupply and connection cable for it though. I could make the cable pretty easily, but a power supply just isn't feasible (pitty b/c the 1541 was older and bulkier but just took a regular power cable in the back). Now if only I could have gotten ahold of a 1581 . . . . (the 3.5" disk drive for the commodores 🙂).

I don't know how many hours I lost playing those games. Took me forever to get the Congressional Medal of Honor in Airborn Ranger, there was this one campaign mission I had some difficulty figuring out.
Ah, the memories...
