C2D Processor E6300, E6320, or E4500?

Just to toss this info in... right now the E4500 is $99.99 plus shipping ($6.50 ground to me) at MicroCenter.com. Found this in Hot Deals forum.

EDIT: MicroCenter doesn't have all the specs, but the part number is the same as NewEgg's. Only difference I see thus far is the packaging. The two have very different box graphics. I wonder why.

virtual machines still run without VT.

there are apparently a few features that require VT though (for example, if you are running say windows 32bit, and want a VM of a 64bit OS it hink you need VT for that).

but yeah in general you can still run most OSes in vmware without VT, so VT is really not a huge issue for virtualization right now.

E6300

I picked it up last year within couple months of Core 2 duo release. Was the cheapest core 2 duo at the time and these older steppings over clock much better than new allendale stepings. My motherboard does High FSB and I have 2 gigs of Micron d9. I'm fully capable of doing 3.5+ ghz but run it 24/7 3.05ghz at default voltage. I never had a reason to run it any higher.

To finish off this thread, which was an enormous help to me in picking my first C2D processor, I bought the E4500. The deciding factor was the 11x multiplier, since I don't want to have to push my FSB that hard to get to 3.2 GHz on the cpu. My next one will probably be in the 6xxx range, but I thought the E4500 was good enough to get my overclocking feet wet. =)
