ok, C2D runs with a FSB of 1066 which is really 266Mhz Quad pumped (4x)
now, for ram speeds its best to run in sync, 1:1 ratio. that 266 number is what the ram should run at to make it in sync, correct? wouldnt I need 1066 ram then for 1:1?

Im getting PC5300 or DDR2 667, which if I am correct runs at 166X4=667, right? DDR800 runs at 200Mhz since its 200X4, etc... am I correct on these ram ratios?

I read this article that says PC4200, DDR2 533 runs at 1:1 but how can this be possible??

DDR2-533 for 1:1

1066 is the effective FSB after being quad-pumped, runs at 266.

266*2 = 533
DDR2-533

Divide the PC2 value by 16 to get the FSB speed. For instance, PC2-6400 runs at 6400/16=400 FSB. You can also divide the DDR value by 2: DDR1000 does 1000/2=500 FSB.
So if you overclock an E6600 to 4 GHz 450FSB then you need RAM that will do DDR900 which is PC2-7200.
There is an OCZ Platinum 2GB Kit Rated at DDR800 that will do close to DDR1000 that I bought for $190 less $60MIR. Now I just the chip.

so with DDR2-667 I can get a 1:1 @ 3Ghz since the FSB will be 333, which is stock for ram, and 333 OC from 266 for FSB?
Ill be happy at 3, but im sure it will be able to go higher!! weeee
