C2D and clock mults

i got a 4300 and noticed that i can only set between 6-9x clock mult in the bios
are any of the other models, like the 6600, able to go higher ?

The 6700 goes to 10x and the 6800 anything from 6x to 11x.

and yet no motherboards seem to overclock much above 1300fsb ?

it appears to me that the motherboards are the limiting factor regardless of how much you pay for a c2d

I doubt it, my S3 motherboard will run a E4300 fine but I know for a fact that it can hit 1840fsb (effective) with my E6300.
