C2 566 overclocking help

Been trying to get this be6-2 with a slot1 celeron2-566 mhz cpu on a iwill slocket and golden orb cooler to boot at 900mhz or higher. I'm using compuwiz high end inferion ram and cant seem to get the system to boot with FSB of 133 at any setting.

I'll post all my fsb settings if it helps to determine the problem.

Any tips is appreciated.

Slot 1 CeleronII has a default FSB of 66 Mhz and is multiplier locked Hence an increase in FSB is the only way to overclock since setting multiplier in BIOS has no effect. 66=>100 Mhz is a 50% overclock that will give 850 Mhz processor speed.
This and maybe slightly more is what can be expected.
Expect to use a voltage of up to a maximum of 1,85 or even 1,9V with a good coolingfan. 1,75 is reasonable limit with default cooling and many CII566 do not give the sweet 100 on this setting.
Recommend setting voltage on slotket to 1,75 or what you intend to since some motherboards run on "default" voltage for an instant before software settings in Bios is applied. Hence increasing on the slotket can give a better result. Many moteherboards also limit how much can be tweaked to a too low level. This is also bypassed by setting the voltage on the slotket.

Yeah, 850 is the sweet spot on that chip. Mine does it at 1.65v. It wont budge past 850, but it is completley cool and stable at 850. I run a GORB on it, but it was cool enough with the stock heatsink&fan.

You said you couldn't get it to boot at 133fsb on a BX board so that would be the problem. You have to work up from 100mz fsb and will be lucky to get 110ish which is pretty good. I had a 566 that wouldn't even do turbo (103mz) but was fine at 850. Al my other 3 C2's (533@112,600@103,633@103) worked great at turbo+

It will never do 133mhz FSB. It should do 100mhz no problem maybe 110 if it is a good one. If it did do 133mhz you better sell it to me because it would be to dangerous for you to run it at that speed 😉

You have no control over the multiplier on that cpu. 133MHz is not gonna happen. 100 is common, 110-112 if you have an exceptional chip. Good cooling and max voltage of 1.85v should get 850 - 935 if you've got a good cpu. 🙂

133fsb, that is twice the spec'ed fsb for the chip of 66mhz

You are essentially trying to run it at 8.5*133 (1130mhz)

1130mhz for a Celeron... tell him hes dreamin
