I have the Sony C1VPK Vaio Picturebook.. just recently reformatted it and clean installed WinXP Corporate.
I followed all of the instructions on how to upgrade to WinXP at ita.sel.sony.com, except for the one about upgrading the BIOS (since I dont have a USB floppy drive - and the Picturebook doesnt have one built in).
But, depressing the Capture button (it's next to the power button) doesn't start up the Smart Capture program like it used to.. what do I need to do?? I notice in the task manager that the sscrdy.exe program is running in the background - on other Picturebooks, that seems to be the program that responds to the Capture button.
In general, I need to map a weird key/button on the laptop to the execution of some program, or for the program to recognize the pressing of the button. Perhaps there's some third party software that will recognize and program weird devices?
