was in the bios the other day, and wanted to try and get a few more mhz out of my rig (in my sig below)

so, i adjusted the ram timins to fastest (from normal) and, since id had trouble getting the pc2100 ram to go stable at 175mhz, i thought id add .1 volts to the ram and see if i could get it there, or if id just want to sell it off and get some faster ram soon

so, i add that, and change the fsb speed to 175 and reboot

posts, go back into bios, freezes.

reboot, try to go into bios again to change it back to 173, no xtra voltage, freezes

reboot, BEEP, mobo is giving me C1 on the led

according to the manual, C1h is - detection of dram type, size and ecc type; or related to l2 cache memory

ugh

reboot, hold insert, still C1
turn off, short CMOS clear jumper for a few seconds, turn on, C1

changed the ram, even the cpu (was upgrading to a 1700+ tbred b anyway ) for good samples, C1 still

old ram/cpu still worked in another box

any ideas whats wrong? ive unplugged everything but cpu/ram/video
burn my board up? anyone? im waiting for an email from epox tech support, but i dont know how long itll take to get a response and dont know what else i should try

When you tried to clear the cmos, did you remove the power cord (you should have)? Try leaving the jumper in the clear position for a minute.
