Haha good luck with that, an administration that wants the pass health care at "any cost" allowing C-SPAN to record the debate, talk about wishful thinking. Even more ridiculous is the fact that they are bringing up a promise that Obama made 2 years ago... I mean Obama and Promises they are synonyms aren't they?
These weezles aren't even allowing the GOP in their orgy how can anyone expect cameras to be allowed

I would be surprised if they allowed it but will remain full of hope for some change. Otherwise there wouldn't be the need for all the secrecy.

"It is for your own good, the people do not understand what is really good for them so the government should work to provide for their best interest as a parent cares for a child. "

Chinese emperor's quotes are becoming more and more relevant.

Chinese emperor's quotes are becoming more and more relevant.

On August 24 , 1963 , Khrushchev himself remarked in his speech in Yugoslavia , "I once said, 'We will bury you,' and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you," [ 4] a reference to the Marxist saying, "The proletariat is the undertaker of capitalism " ; a popular articulation of the materialist conception of history as the inevitable progression of class struggle towards communism .

That is the quote I find most relevant with our present government these days.

The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history.

I'd like to see someone -- preferably someone who supports the decision to hide the proceedings -- answer this question: Why not air these negotiations?

The question seems simple enough...

Is there nobody here who agrees with their beloved party leaders (Reid, Pelosi, etc) and who can explain this to me? Craig? Shadow? heyheybooboo? ... anyone?

My understanding of this is limited.

It includes that Obama said in the campaign trail that he's for airing this, and now he appears to be backed off of that, a broken promise.

I'm not sure whether he has broken it on his own initiative for the political benefit to passing the bill, or whether he is facing congressional opposition.

I assume it's the leadership of the house who makes the decision and haven't seen Pelosi's position.

This.

One of the earliest, if not the earliest, deals made by the White House was with Pharma, completely secret and behind closed doors.

On the policy, the best light for Obama is that he 'had to make the deal' because big pharma is just too strong, as Clinton found - which is a huge problem forour nation.

The not so good light is that he was happy to sell out the public interest. It's hard to say where he is ion the scale but the policy was very disappointing regardless of whether it was more Obama or big pharma.

On the secrecy, that seems to me a violation of his campaign pledge withthe same two choices above.

Well beyond the health care debate, he was promising to put ALL legislation on display via the internet prior to congressional voting.

Open and transparent my ass.

While there have been violations of the transparency pledge, let's not forget transparency has increased under the democrats before you push the Republicans with less transparency.

He's only interested transparancy until the shit he wants to pass sucks to hard no rational person seeing the workings in progress would ever be in favor of it. Health Care has been a complete secret to date and 61% of America is opposed to it. Imagine if they had full access.

They're called "lies" Craig, not "violations."

It's OK Craig, you can say it... I voted for him too, but it doesn't physically hurt when you admit that he's just another lying douchebag, I promise. Go on, be a big boy and try it...

That's one of the two scenarios I raised, neither of which is good for our country or Obama, both of which involve him breaking his campaign platform.

Now, how do you think a group who badly screw up an effort to help Americans' health, who compromises primarily because of the opposition of Republicans and sellout Democrats, compares to the other group who are happy to simply completely sellout the well being of millions of Americans and cash their industry checks?

Dems from the git go totally excluded Reps from the process thinking they had the political capital to bully their way through. But now it's the Reps fault that Dems have had to compromise in order to have a chance to get their legislation passed? Seriously?

If anyone screwed up the effort to reform Americans' healthcare, it was the Dems not the Republicans. They thought they could make radical changes unilaterally...and they thought wrong.

sheesh... try to give craig the benefit of the doubt because he's a true believer, but that is just bullshit... the dems are taking as much from the same groups as the reps ever did, and have closed the door because all of their vote buying and selling out can't be done in the light of day... your heroes are just the same as your enemies you sad sap...
