C&C scrolls too fast even on the slowest setting!

I'm trying to play C&C and even with the game speed down to a pretty slow speed and the scroll speed down to the lowest it goes, the screen flies way too far way too fast if my mouse touches the edge of the screen even for just a brief moment. There's no way for me to scroll up just a little bit!

Any ideas?

Enable the video buffer, you have to access the settings through either the start menu icon or the icon in the c&c install directory, cant be done from in game. On nvidia 8xxx and above cards the video buffer causes the game to run extremely slowly, theres no solution for this as far as i know, its either crazy scroll speed without the buffer or crazy slow game with the buffer, it especially slows down when things are being built or structures are destroyed. You might not have that problem with your ATI though.

From what i remember it was easier to get the original c&c running flawlessly than red alert despite RA being newer.

I have an Nvidia card and both C&C and RA scroll fine with the back buffer and hardware blits settings enabled. Things only slow down when a ton of units fill up the map in skirmish games.

Scrolling is still too fast. If I am on one corner of the map, touching the edge of the screen sends me to the other side of the map. It's too touchy!
