C&C Renegade $34.99 at BB

For those that missed out on the Comp USA deal, Best Buy has Renegade on sale for $34.99. Mixed reviews on this game, but personally I like it. Westwood usually doesn't totally mess up and I think they'll clear things up with patches if they need to.

Yea, alot of bugs. But compusa still has it on sale for 30 bucks! Today is the last day to get it though! CC has it for $35.99, pricematch it with Compusa and get it cheaper, 110% PM, I think....

I'm mixed on this game, too - Westwood really fugged up the multi maps - making some impossible to defend and others impossible to infiltrate. Seriously - 2 minutes into each game, something dies in another base or yours, OR BOTH - it happens too often for it to be the sheer skill of the people I play with. And when they add air vehicles....games that lasted 7 minutes are now gonna last 2.

Westwood should have looked at Tribes 2 maps when making the maps for this game. The ones they have are way too cramped. My advice is to stick to 16 and 24 player maximum servers.

By the way - I got my copy for 24.99. BB PM to CompUSA's 29.99 - 20% off Coupon found in PC Gamer Feb. issue.

bah, if u think they're gonna support the game after u've already bought it, your wrong. they never fixed the map reveal cheats in ra2, although they did make a work-around... only for YR. and there will not be any patches any time soon for YR and RA2. the 1st patch for Renegade came out, yet parts of the game still run chunky on a 1.4ghz athlon and my friends 1.6ghz p4. hmm.... rtcw never had such problems. i still think they shoulda licensed the q3 engine for better networking code

the ppl who were working on renegade are now working on C&C: Generals, which is the next C&C installment based on renegades 3d engine. now westwood plops down a game and then moves on to the next one. they no longer care about fans ever since tiberian sun.

Not entirely true. There's a patch in the works for using aerial units for multiplayer, and I'll be damned if this patch doesn't also fix a few bugs.

Kopit - That's the new form factor for PC game boxes... EA is one of the first to use them but others will follow. Maybe not all, but most will be this size in the future...
