OK< So I wanted to go back and play some old games that I loved. I installed and play C&C Generals to conclusion. Then I wanted to play the add-on Zero hour, so I installed that. So the game starts to fire up, you see a screen and a lot of disk and CD activity, then nothing. I have tried the updated method from the menu, and downloading the 1.04 patch, either way no go.

And now I have tried it on two different boxes with the same result, one nvidia, one ATI video card. Any ideas ??

Are you running Vista? If so, there is a known problem and to make a long story short, the save game/setting files created in the My Documents folder do not get created in Vista during installation. So like you, when I first ran it it would spin up the CD but the program would not load. I had to copy the files from an XP install I had handy. After doing so, it worked.

Below are my specs:

e8400 @ 3.6GHz
eVGA 680i
4GB DDR
Visiontek HD4850
Vista 64 Ultimate

No, running XP. The last Time I ran this was on 2k though, could that be the problem ?

I had this problem with XP also. I kept reinstalling it with and without the patch. I neded up getting it to work, but I forget how. Mess round with it without the patch and then with the patch

I have Zero Hour installed as I type this. Running XP Pro. And never once had any problems with the game loading. Or C&C Generals.
