Does anyone know if anything comes after yottabyte? :)

BTW, I just learned today that a nibble is four bits (or half a byte). :p

<< A gigabyte is equal to 1,024 megabytes.
A terabyte is equal to 1,024 gigabytes.
A petabyte is equal to 1,024 terabytes.
An exabyte is equal to 1,024 petabytes.
A zettabyte is equal to 1,024 exabytes.
A yottabyte is equal to 1,024 zettabytes.

From there, we'll be working backwards through the Latin alphabet (there simply weren't enough Titans in Greek mythology to go around), until we reach the alphabyte. What ever comes after that isn't worth considering - it's just a helluva-lottabytes!

Actually, it's nybble with a 'y' in keeping with the byte. Those funny geeks. I once heard a dude tell me that 2-bits were ALSO referred to occasionally as a "Shave and a haircut."

The other day I was installing some software in the datacenter for a local city, and the admin was telling me how they got this new server with "1.5 Trigabytes of storage" then he said "we can upgrade it to "3 trigabytes." I didn't have the heart to tell him there is no such thing as a trigabyte.

If we ever get beyond yottabytes, something tells me the storage medium wouldn't be based on a 'bit', which then would make 'byte' groundless.

sigh.. we can only dream.

Wow. When I was in school the prefixes would stop at tera, or at least my teachers didn't show us the others. The world seems bigger now. I was wondering if more existed.
