DVDShrink is no longer available for download. The DVDShrink site has closed its doors after almost one year of no updates to the program. You will be missed.

Goddamnit.
I'm sure that the MPAA are closing down these websites as fast as possible because of some new copy-protection scheme they have coming out soon.

There's not much they can do with DVD by now. Keep in mind, DVDs still have to work on old players, so they can't modify it much. The best attempt they tried lately was ArCOSS and that was cracked before a single movie had it...

Don't worry, once the new HD format is finalized and issued, some enterprising geek somewhere will crack it, or a sympathizer within one of the companies will "accidentally" leak the encryption scheme.

Someone will make a program at some point to do the same thing these other programs did.

DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, the two best DVD "backup" tools are no longer being updated, sad. I hate the MPAA.

DVD Decryptor wasn't really the best at what it did for a long while anyways though, many programs did it better and on the fly... they cost money though. For freeware, it was truly great to have and use though.

you can replace shrink w/ nero reencode...i think it may even be for the same programmer

I think that may be the reason why development on DVDShrink ceased, and not the MPAA/DMCA/"insert govt agency here"

🙁🙁🙁🙁

DVDshrink was one of my favorite programs...

does anyone know how much nero reencode costs and where I can get it?

What he said. Although updates won't be made, these programs will continue to work.
