Red, that is one point I agree with you on. When I was a bit younger, like 18, I had a mohawk, tongue ring, nipple rings and my nose and eyebrows pierced. Then everyone started getting it done, and it made it like it wasn't even being different anymore. So I took it all out shaved my head and now I don't try to be different, because being different nowadays is actually conforming to society, if you guys can see what I mean.

BTW, i'm 28 now, I took the rings out after I had gotten into a fight and had a few of them ripped out for me. People said that might happen and I wouldn't listen. That was also around the time I noticed a hell of a lot more people with piercings than I had noticed when I first got them. Oh well, live and learn.

For one thing, besides bozo, I've never seen anyone with hair quite like mine. Sure, it's been done before, but who cares?
I never said I was trying to make a statement, or trying to be different. My peers are generally indifferent to this, and a lot of people are disapproving of it. I did it because I like it, and not for any other reason.
In fact the one thing I don't like about this look is that everyone and their brother feels the need to comment on it, wherever I am - walking down the street, grocery shopping, etc.. It comes with the territory, though.

If you guys want to discuss conformity then you should visit the thread I started about that just a few days ago.

edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention that my eyebrow has already been pierced. I liked that too, but I took it out to make myself more employable.

Blue doesn't work with my hair, bleaching my hair turns it yellow, so dying it blue turns it green

That's why you have to leave the bleach in longer... say, 60 minutes or something

I know someone with light blond hair who left the bleach in for 15 minutes and his hair turned out WHITE white. After two days of waking up, going into the bathroom, and scaring the crap outta himself, he dyed it orange.

Just leave the bleach in longer and your hair will turn white -then you can dye it blue and have it actually look blue. :thumbs up;

I left the bleech in for 90 minutes, couldn't stand to have it in any longer than that. It's hard to tell how it's going to turn out while the bleech is in there anyway...it looked nearly white when I took it out, but ended up being kinda orangeish.

90 minutes is a damn long time. You'd have been better off washing it out and reapplying fresh bleach after about 45min. That would have saved you about 15-30min.

I have hair as dark as yours (or darker) and it took me 3 applications with about 30min per application just to get it blonde. When it was all said and done, it was a bit lighter than your hair. My scalp was numb for the rest of the afternoon, and it started to peel after about a week. Needless to say, I don't make it a point to rebleach often.

My hair is pretty long now (about 5 inches all around my head), and I was thinking of bleaching it all blonde and highlighting it brown.

The most powerful bleachers are the highlighting kits, which are supposed to be used just for little steaks. They are real stong. But I mixed up the paste and did my whole head, It started to SMOKE. Hilarious. Only took about ten minutes.

It's not bad, I suppose. I would preffer to have jet black hair, however, since IMHO that would be much cooler.

One thing I did see once that was kind of funny was this dude who had obviously bleached his hair, then died it BRIGHT freaking blue. It was a bit longer than yours, and he combed it into an Elvis hair-doo. It made him look like a cartoon character. :Q
