Well I decided to get rid of my 38CFM loud as hell Delta black label... I replaced it with a 60mm low profil panaflo... my god it's so much more quiet... I can actually sleep now with my computer in the same room! And I dont' have to listen to music really loud in order to drown out the fan noise... Wow... its been so long since I could hear.... anything above it's decibal level! lol!

The only drawback is now I can only run my Athlon 1Ghz at stock speed instead of 1.2GHz..... small price to pay for quiet peaceful nights!

JOIN WITH MY MY BRETHREN IN PETITIONING DELTA TO MAKE A 60mm fan that does 45CFM's & only puts out 8db!

My Delta is back in the drawer again too - lost 100Mhz off my overclock, but my system is Oh So quiet now...

For some reason, when I first read your topic, I thought you meant that Delta Airlines filed for bankruptcy.

The times we live in...

My 7k fan is pretty loud too but I think I'm gonna stick a 92mm fan on there with an adapter to lower the dB and raise the cfm. :)

This is why I watercool. 1 Panaflo 120mm keeps my 900 running at 1102. I could never go back to normal aircooling.

Delta fans suck.
I can barely stand to use my computer when it's that loud, let alone sleep with it on...

Heh, I don't even like my 32dB TaiSol for overnight stuff (or normal stuff)...however, I do put some music on as I fall asleep so I don't hear it.

I think I'm gonna try underclocking and see if I can get away with no fan. :) Only thing is my current mobo doesn't have the ability to lower the voltage...only raise it (Epox 8K7A). :(

zippy - for reference, my tbird 700 does 500 on a 1.3vcore stable, and the heatsink gets pretty hot... but it should be a survivable temp.

Can someone give me a good online site that sells a quiter fan to replace the Delta? I'm starting to get really aggrivated by the sound.

The as yet unreleased Dr. Thermal, which is a 20% larger Thermoengine with a 70MM fan at 36cfm and 5000 rpm and solid copper core may be the answer. (If they can offset the copper plug to center itself on the core)

I also use the German Pabst fan, which is a lot easier on the ears than the Delta.
