Slowly slipping away....Binky Our poor old buddy. He was just a kitten when Barbara moved in here 15 years ago. He and several litter mates lived under the house and he is the last of the three that weren't just feral beyond recovery.
He used to weigh 17+ lbs (most of it fur 😀) and over the last month has lost ~ 10 lbs (and a bit of fur) We had an MRI (no tumors) and blood work up, (no infections) but he's not his usual self. We think theToxoplasmosis is catching up with him.
Binky has been hanging out on my bed, sleeping and eating (very little). Sometimes when he wakes up, he has this look like he doesn't know where he is for a minute.
So far he has shown any other signs of distress or pain, he's still going to the bathroom, always important btw, so, we're just taking it one day at a time.
The vet is already on standby, so it's that waiting time now.

***********Update*************

Today we put Binky cat to sleep. His illness had finally taken over and it was time.

's for good kitties. There aren't enough for that old boy.
Despite having to share his house with all the other dogs and cats he never ever got hissy with any of the others, even if they were being ill.
His fur was like a reverse Polar Bear, Black on top with this wierd white layer beneath.
Sometimes all you could see of him was his whiskers if he was in a shadow.
When I first moved in here, he was the first cat to greet me and wasn't shy about hitting me up for snacks late at night.
Rest In Peace Binky.
🙁

Cats tend to know when they are going to die. They find some hidden place to crawl into so if you can't find him sometime, look around favorite hiding places.

Ok, so he's still eating and pooping and although he's wobbly while doing it, manages to get himself around from the front to back yard, and vice versa. Can't jump more than a couple of feet. 🙁
Hey, as long as he's not in distress, he can wobbly walk his furry butt around here for as long as it takes.
We're not going to kill him just because he's got issues at this stage of the game. 😎 :cookie:

Recent observations: he does this wierd sort of motion with his head prior to eating, as he goes to eat, and it seems to give him pause for a few seconds. It's sort of this jaw movement and head shake, just to one side. Does it two or three times. Then he can eat. As for eating he eats about 3 tablespoons of wet food and maybe spends 5 minutes at the dry food through out the day.
Also, he seems to not see as well. He was in the other room and started growling as roommate put on shirt and was flipping it around, said his wife. Or maybe he just didn't like that shirt, I don't know, I wasn't there. 😀
