By appointment to her Majesty the queen

This chocolate is the shitz!

Cadbury isn't _terrible_. It's not the best chocolate, but it is somewhere between Hershey's and Godiva.

oh, I totally agree.

just being difficult, because OP likes it when I'm difficult. 😀

while they may be the worst things ever, I love Cadbury cream eggs. Horrible chocolate, horrible fondant...but damn.

Hersey just won a court case to stop them from selling in the USA unless made by Hersey.

wtf? this is a real story.

"Due to legal action by the so-called chocolate maker Hersheys, we can no longer import the real Cadbury chocolate from England," the shop wrote on its Facebook (FB, Tech30) page. "They want us to sell their dreadful Cadbury approximation but we can't in good conscience sell you such awful chocolate when we have made our reputation on selling you the yummy real English stuff."

Oh, well, carry on then.

They've paid for the rights to sell cadbury's brand in the US. Obviously nobody will buy it if people are importing a non shit tasting version of it, so they sued? Sounds reasonable. The alternative would be abandoning the hershey's tradition of making shit tasting chocolate.

looks like cadbury fucked up by not requiring Hershey to adhear to the same quality standards as they do in England.

Yeah. I don't know. Maybe they couldn't. It's the same as in England elsewhere (very popular in Africa, and just as delicious). I used to order it from an importer in laguna beach when i stayed in the US.

lol

"best before feb 2015. no new stock available due to import restrictions." can't even order it from africa.

guess everyone got the memo.

I've never had real Cadbury, but it doesn't matter, I just can't tolerate much milk chocolate. I don't like my chocolate to be excessively creamy.

It looks like they do have a 70% bar called Old Gold... I'd be willing to give that a try, I like trying everyone's take on dark between 60-80%. Not a big fan of most 85% or higher, it's not the bitterness, it's the texture, too waxy, but perhaps I haven't tried enough super-high cacao content bars.
45% like most of the big company (Cadbury, Hershey) basic versions of Dark, is still too creamy. I like smooth, but not a high-cream and richly sweet chocolate, not more than a single bite or so.
