Help! My shiny new BX master just won't come alive with my Viper II? Works just fine with my Rage Fury MAXX. Anyone know why? The master works sorta ok with a Viper 770; one problem is that any screen saver locks the system but good. Any clues? Isn't this supposed to be the motherboard of motherboards?

those vipers' are just really big pieces of junk. They are very timing sensitive and sometimes they are even physically slot sensitive to the position in the slot.

get a geforce and life will be great.

are you using the lastest drivers? I had a little problem using my V3-3000 but I installed the lastest drivers and it screams. Are you using the ultra viper tnt2? I was just wondering, because I could never get that card to work right.

Thanks for the reply BeHeMOTH. I am using the latest Viper 770 TNT2 drivers (non-ultra). Nothing I could think of would make the Viper II work at all. I don't have a Geforce; maybe I should, huh?

I have two V770 vipers one ultra and one not, no problems. Now I have noticed the screen saver lockup my Dell that has a Geforce DDR hercules in it, if I turn it on and leave it in the enter network password screen and come back sometimes its locked up and I have to reboot it. My Vipers are in an MSI 6163 and an Aopen both are Via 133 chipsets...so from my experience V770s are not touchy, just my 2 cents.
I'll trade the aopen for your BX Master if interested...

Sorry to hear your still having trouble with it, I never really like diamond's drivers and the ultr tnt2 card made me stick with 3dfx. Have you tried another card besides the TNT? You could try a V2-2000 and if it doesn't work take it back, that's what I did with the TNT card at COmp-USA.
