BX Master HD light question...

i have a bx master, with both of my HD's on the ata66 channels. should (or will) the HD lights flash when there is activity on the drives???

thanks

the odd thing is.. the lights light up with my cd-rom and when my burner is reading a cd (they are both on ide channel 2)

Haven't been able to get my light to work in any believable way either. I've tried every combination I can think of...

Well ... IDE drives on the same channel both are controlled by the (I)ntegrated (D)rive (E)lectronics on the Master. Hence, the activity is always per-channel, not per-drive as is the case with SCSI.

So if you access the slave drive, the master's activity LED will come on as well. This is normal.

youll love this... when i was digging through the manual... i ran across the page that mentioned that there is a seperate jumper that you have to plug the HDD connector into! man, i guess it does pay to read the instructions!! 😱

Like I said, don't use the 2 middle pins on the seperate connection for the ATA66 HD light, like the manual says. Use the two outer ones.
