I have to admit even as a person who takes a keen interest in all things technical i have no idea how big that CPU is without looking it up

No No it's worse than just using a P-M which hardy anyone ever seen! They used a yonah which no one here has ever has or even knows size to give any point of reference. I would have used a athlon XP or like you say a coin which everyone knows it's size.
