"Buzzing" noise coming from Seasonic X-750

Built this computer about a year and a half ago, sometime fairly recently this buzzing noise started. It used to be kind of on and off, but lately I can hear it nearly all the time. Though there are still short instances where it cuts out.

The sound is kind of like when a very fast fan is clipping a piece of paper, it's not a 'solid' noise but has discernible, and very quick, 'modulation' to it.

The sound also can still be heard even when the computer is turned off but still plugged in, though it is noticeably quieter. Unplugging the PSU itself or flipping off the switch on the PSU kills the sound completely.

Any ideas of what's going on and if there's anything I can try to fix it? It'd be well within Seasonic warranty of course, but I dunno if they honor "buzzing" exchanges lol. Plus if I can take care of it myself, even better.

I have another PC in the room that I haven't had any noise from, it has a 500W OCZ ModXStream in it, I think I'll try using it in the same outlet as this one to see if it's possibly some sort of issue with the power itself. Thanks in advance for other input.

I got the same symptoms you described with my coolermaster gx 550w that I bought in June 2010.

About three weeks ago, it died with a bang and a brief, dazzling display of light and smoke. Luckily it didn't take any other components with it.

Like paul878 said, it's probably the coil. Better get yours replaced.
