Buzz from Speakers

Recently I am having this sporadic buzzing noise coming out of my speakers. I have had this setup for years, but recently this problem has crept its ugly head. Speakers are bookshelf cambridges, running on an Onkyo DS474 amp, connected to the integrated sound on my mobo.

The sound is a series of buzzes, sounding like an interference noise of sorts. I have moved my cell phone away from the source. Don't think the wires are interfering. Could it possibly be the speaker itself? Somehow doubt that, but I guess Ill isolate a separate source and see if this problem still occurs. Any other point of interference? Could this be anything related to drivers, or peripheral conflicts?

Your suggestions are very much appreciated. This is quite frustrating. Thanks.

You're picking up radiated noise from somewhere. Have you recently moved either the speakers or the receiver? Have you ADDED a piece of equipment to that area/room? What about on the other side of the wall from where the computer is located?

Hmm... nothing new added. The TV in my room may have moved a bit closer... ill try moving it back where it was. There is a cable modem next to it along with my wireless router. Also, the receiver is right next to the speaker being affected, however all of my audio equipment have been in the same location for years without problems. Only one speaker seems to be affected.

This may sound dumb, but try moving the wire that connects the affected speaker to a different position. It may be acting as an antenna in it's current "shape" or "position."

Also confirmed that this happens when I have my headphones hooked up directly to my receiver.

Could be too much gain on the amp picking up spurious emissions from the mobo. And it can be software. See this thread above:

If you can borrow a sound card, disable the on board sound and see it it is picked up still. It is EMI, and tracking down EMI sometimes borders on witchcraft.
