buying windows xp pro

cant put up with the win xp home that came with my laptop anymore. thinking about buying win xp pro. where would you get it? the cheapest and the most trustworthy place that is?

so i checked out a couple of college store prices for windows xp, the full installation discs are 300 a piece, non OEM. I guess college stores dont sell OEM copies.

I got my copy off of FS/T from a well-known and trustworthy AT member. It was OEM, so I paid a pretty low price for it.

i am trying to upgrade the driver for my ati card. but the driver that i downloaded wont install, i think it's because its the way my laptop is set up, that it can only take updates from fujitsu.

Did you try formatting with your windows xp home CD?

oh no not at all. i dont have the home cd, because they dont include it.

it will only take updates from fujitsu? and that is XP home's fault?

anway that seems odd they it would only take updates from one site

Uh, why not ask around for a Windows XP Home OEM CD? I know at least 10 people that have em on hand, just ask friends. And your problem has nothing to do with XP Home, its a Fujitsu problem 😛

I think for mobile graphic drivers you do have to get them from the manufactor

Nvidia didn't have the drivers and told me to go to manufactor's site

I think you have partitioned recovery

I want a XP Home CD too.
I own a legal CD key that came with my computer, but I don't have a Windows Home OEM CD.
How can I get the CD?
Can I order one from Microsoft or something?
None of my friends seem to have it 🙁

I wonder how that works. Is it legal for him to download the OEM CD if he has the key for it? I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be.

Probably not legal, I don't suggest doing it.
