So I have seen deals up the Windows 7 upgrades, but if I currently only use OSX and bootcamp to run Windows 7 RC what version of Windows 7 do I buy?

Moved from Software For Windows to Operating Systems.

If you have no other OS installed, I think you need the full version. I also need the full version since I want to go from XP Pro 32 to 7 Pro 64.

wrong. You can go from xp to any version of 7. According to http://news.cnet.com/8301-1386...?tag=mncol;mlt_related and various other threads.

"Among the questions I was asked most frequently was whether someone could move from a version of Windows XP or Vista to a different version of Windows 7. In all combinations, the answer is yes, and it can be done using the cheaper upgrade version of the operating system, though in some cases a clean installation of Windows 7 may be required. "

Its confusing indeed... i thought the same thing last night. But i think the confusion lies in the word upgrade. Can you upgrade your xp to windows 7, NO. Can you use the windows 7 upgrade to install windows 7 to a machine with xp, YES.

An upgrade install means keep all old settings programs... but an upgrade disk can also do a clean install.

BOTTOM LINE: No matter what version of VISTA/XP you have YOU CAN USE ANY VERSION OF WINDOWS 7 UPGRADE. But in some cases will need to do a clean install.
