Hey guys...I have $450 to burn and I need to get rid of it tonight. What is the best card I can get of new egg for that?
BTW, I have similar post in video, but I just need response now and know that some of you don't go to both categories. Thank you!

I did read his entire post. That's no reason to cross-post the same question in multiple forums.

Video, sure. General hardware? Sure. Off-topic? Okay, maybe. CPU forum? No.
 
For $450 exactly, X800XT.

For $380, 6800GT.

X800XT will run all shader intensive games faster than 6800 series cards (ie. HL2, Perimeter, Far Cry etc.). Unless you play Doom 3 and a lot of older OpenGL games, I'd get x800xt since it provides better gaming experience. Also X800xt has HDTV capability if that is of importance to you.

But bang-for-the-buck, 6800GT it is.

What extra pipelines? 😛

The 6800 Vanilla has the pipelines and vertex pipe that MIGHT be able to be unlocked.
 
6800GT... you will barely, if at all, notice a difference betweent that and the X800XT. Thats what happens when you cruise around at like 200FPS 😛

GT will save you money, then you have more money for something else 🙂

Sorry about cross posting. I've adminned BBs before, so I know that it's not right. Anyway I was under some stress to reach a decision. I trust the posters on here, so I tried to get as many opinions as possible. I ended up with BFG 6800GT OC. I am about to receive it later today. Thank you for those that helped. Sorry to those who can't bend a little. 🙂
BTW-the card purchased is OCed..hence this is in correct category! 😛
