I have heard about reliability issues with the NEo platinuim, but gazing at threads on here it seems the Asus is having just as many. The prebundled set is pre-tested by MOnarch so hopefully this will save me some pain!

my first neo2 was horrible. New one is running at 290 fsb stable with no other problems. Seems most who got a newer revision are happy with it

I've had both boards ...and I have to give a strong recomendation to the Asus.
The MSI was VERY problematic in my setup, the Asus was charmed :)

Having 2 WD IDE drives then the A8V (3 IDE channels) will offer the opportunity to keep them on separate channels, separate from each other and your optical drive.

On the K8N Neo2 (2 IDE channels) you would need to employ a master/slave setup on 1 IDE channel creating a performance bottleneck

I do....but I just recently rebuilt with an FX-53 on..get this, both the MSI K8N, K8T Neo2s and the Asus A8V-D rev2..The Asus was buy far the the best of the three.
If your woundering why I still have the Intel sig. its because in the end after a month of testing across all three boards...I decided I liked the P4EE @ 3.7ghz better, I know it sounds crazy, but my Intel setup is more stable and gives more consistant frames rates in all games and HTT can't be beat for multi apps. :)

How are the RAID controllers on each board?? I was thinking of doing a RAID setup with the 250 GB WD drives I bought last night.
