Buying tickets at MSG the day of a concert?

I'm seeing a Muse concert in three weeks and a friend of mine wants to come along, but doesn't know if he could make it yet. The show is at Madison Square Garden, would it be possible to buy tickets the day of the show assuming it doesn't sell out? Thanks in advance.

For individual tickets for any event at Madison Square Garden, visit the Garden Box Office:

4 Pennsylvania Plaza
New York, NY 10001
or call TicketMaster (212) 307-7171.

Madison Square Garden's Box Office is located in the Garden's Main Ticket Lobby, directly beyond the building's Seventh Avenue Mall, at 7th Ave. and 32nd St.

You may purchase tickets for events on sale to the public at any of our venues at any one of our respective Box Offices, during their Box Office hours.

Monday-Friday 9-AM 6-PM: If an event starts before 10am, Box Office will open 1 hour before event start time. If event starts after 6pm, Box Office will remain open for 1 hour after event start time.

Saturday 10am - 6pm: If an event starts before 11am, Box Office will open 1 hour before event start time. If event starts after 6pm, Box Office will remain open for 1 hour after event start time. Sunday CLOSED If an event takes place on Sunday, Box Office will open at 12pm or 2 hours before the event start time (whichever is earlier) and will remain open until 1 hour after event start time.

Looks good.

Okay, thanks a lot man. Good to hear it from someone in the area.
edit: So if I really wanted to, I could go down the NYC and buy the tickets right now?(of course I wouldn't do that, but if I am in the area I would consider it).

I took a look at Ticketmaster's site and the best tickets available are pretty high up, which would probably mean that the show is almost sold out right?

Wow, Muse is playing at MSG? I've seen them twice in a small venue here in Columbus (in the front row of the pit for part of the time, no less 😀 )

Yeah, I found out about the show the day before tickets went on sale. I hope I can get in the front of the pit.

Wait for the week of the concert, search ebay and craigslist. Guarantee you will find tickets way below face.
