Buying Ticket off Craigslist...

Hey guys I want to go to an Above and Beyond concert tomorrow and saw some ads on CL.
How risky is this? Any tips to make sure I don't get scammed? Thanks!

here's a tip: don't buy your ticket off craigslist.

did you try stubhub?

wow tickets for that are expensive. who the fuck is above and beyond?

I've bought legit tickets, and also got scammed. If you were to profile legit sellers and scammers you may be able to mitigate the risks. :whiste:

Ive sold some tickets through craigslist and made some good money.

Above and Beyond is one of the top trance DJs in the world.

Thats pretty cheap from what I see at $80 per. I sold Jay-Z tickets for $300 each.

I prefer just using a local brick-and-mortar ticket seller, at least I have some place I can go yell at should I run into any trouble (never have, after probably 25-30 concerts/events).

CL is rife with scammers, f that mess.

I've bought tickets before on craigslist. I meet the person and paid for the hard copies. Was to a Nat's VS Braves game.

What happens when you cant go anymore and try to sell it?

Scalping is usually defined as selling the tickets above the face value. So you can always sell for facevalue.

I've bought off CL a lot and never been scammed. Probably 15 for 15 over 3 years, almost all concert tix (a couple baseball games, one hockey). Hell, I just bought one 4 days ago. Make sure you get a phone number, just in case it's a scam. Most scammers aren't going to give out their phone number.

Most risky was 2X$125 printed pass that I had to drive an hour to get (paid $150). It was legit though, amazing seats, guy had a last minute emergency and couldn't go. My friend and I had a great time.

In your case, $25 for some little unknown band is probably safe. Most scammers aren't going to rip off someone for $25 (at least not around here). Maybe in Detroit though.
