buying speakers, which should i get

If you have the money for the 5500, then there you go.

The 5500's are better than the 5300's, hense the higher number.

I thought you would be comparing some logitechs to klipsch or something.
 
This is sort of off topic since you clearly want 5.1 speakers...

But my 2.1 logitech 2300's are the most amazing sounding speakers Ive ever heard. Never been more pleased with spending $150.
 
$150 seems pretty steep for 2.1. I paid $150 for my Logitech Z-560's, and they're 4.1.

Is there something special about them that makes them so expensive? Must be pretty damn good for that price.
 
$150 ain't that steep for a good pair of 2.1 speakers. Of course, if you care more about quantity than quality then ignore this post.
