Buying SATA Drives

Cares

Senior member
What are the best SATA drives for their price. I really like 74 Raptors but they are about $2 per GB which is pretty expensive. I don't really know what is good or what isn't. How are drives with NCQ? What is NCQ? Someone recommend some SATA drives for me.

Well if you have the money Raptors are worth it. I currently have a 36GB version and I don't regret it one bit. Plus the 5 year warranty is nice.

If you have a shuttle you night look at the 400GB SATAII drives, you mobo might support them but they generally get performance numbers right under the Raptors but this way you utilze the space in your case.
