No ocing for now mabye the proc in the future.
For now i'm using a new in the box 60gb maxtor I got dirt cheap.
After I save some more money I might get the 300gb maxtor with 16mb buffer.
I'm also using windows xp pro-oem.

Seems solid to me.

Very similar to mine... might want to reconsider the mobo depending on your tastes.. i hear the MSI board is "hit or miss"

I've got the MSI board and I've been very happy with mine so far -- granted, it's only been for a week, but it's running well for now. I'm running a 3200+ at 2.4 GHz on the MSI board and I feel like I have some headroom still.

Looks very good.

If you are planning to overclock in the future, then better ram is in order. If not, then you seem good to go.

Did you read this ? I don't know if this will change your mind or not, but i thought it was worth pointing out. I don't know what is different about the "Platinum" board, if anything, I'm not up on A64 boards.

Is it for gaming? Anyway, more RAM is better than faster RAM.
But getting faster RAM is good for future upgrade.

HSF - Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu

and u don't really need a dvd-rom drive, as the dvd-rw can play dvds just as well
