The family needs a new car, but I've heard that rather than buying straight from dealership, it's wise to post on a reverse auction site and have dealers bid to sell you a car. The question is: is this actually a good way to find a good price, and, if so, what are good reverse auction sites? Thanks for the help.
 
I've not heard of 'reverse auction' sites, but if you use carsdirect.com, the concept is similar. You describe what car you want, and supposedly dealers will get back to you with price quotes.
