Looking to get a 32" LCD, narrowed it down to the LG 32LC2D , Panasonic TC-32LX60 & Sharp LC-32D40U. Prices seem to be almost exactly. Saw all 3 running at Circuit City, know that's not really a great indicator of how good the picture can look if properly tuned. Any ways, The set won't be hooked up to a stereo, so I'm wondering if the sound between these 3 varries that much. From the demo units I was impressed with all the pictures. The TV room at CC has like 25 sets and they wouldn't let me turn the sound down on all of them to check each of the 3 I liked by themselves. I'd even be willing to upgrade a model, $200-$300 dollars worth to get better built in speakers.

I would put that $$ towards a crappy HTIB. Even a real basic HTIB from Polk or someone is going to be better than upgraded attached TV speakers.

I would get the LG or the Pany, not fond of Sharp.

the bedroom doesn't have much space, I thought about buying a HTIB but I dunno with the computer desk, dresser and bed it would be a really tight fit I think. Maybe I'll make some measurments and see what Polk has to offer in the 300-400 range, you're both right about the quality being better.

If Polk doesn't have anything in that range, Onkyo does. Even if the fronts were on stands, but the rears were just sitting on the floor, it would be better.

Recently brought the Panasonic. great TV (had HD installed as well) and the speakers are pretty good. Long-term I will be connecting a home cinema setup though.

If at all possible, I'd suggest checking out the 32" Westinghouse as well. Best Buy should have it.

I will check out the westinghouse, I saw it on Amazon and the price wasn't much cheaper. But, if the set looks great I'd have no problem picking it up
