want to buy a GTX 660 Non Ti. (Pl don't start topic about Ti is worth the price )

I live in Srilanka where our ambient temp is 30 C average some time goes to 32C. Also considering i do some video editing i want to buy a card equipped with dual fan design.

In Srilanka I Can buy
Zotac 324$ (2 Year Warranty)
Zalman 332$ (2 Year Warranty)
Leadteck 315$ (2 year)
Asus 363$ (3 Years)
I have converted to $ for your convenience.

Since one my friend is coming from USA i thought to buy this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127699
OC version 214$ (I'm happy with this than all model locally available)

Since it is cheap and our country prices are too high to afford i took this decision. But i'm afraid of DOA and my friend isn't capable of checking the card either. I don't want to trouble him too much. My plan is to buy in newegg or amazon and ship it to his address so he can bring it to me. FYI newegg / amazon won't ship here. I have given you the local brands + pricing here. What is your suggestion? Can i take the risk buying in newegg where i won't be able to claim the warranty?
Is it too risky?

Consider the price advantage and Chances of failure. I can't take any decesion because i haven't bought any thing from newegg or amazon before. In feedback i found some people gives high rating if they get replacement. So i can't relay on egg counts.

I have a good Powersupply Silencer mkiii

Please respond me soon as you can..

Thanks in advance.

At 50% or greater price I would also get a US version.

I've never had a bad card right out of the box but it does happen. Ask you friend to put the card in their system and run several benchmarks a couple times. If it does ok there then I would consider it good. I would not overclock but thats another issue.

Also there are several 660's under $200 with dual fans...

You would have to have your friend send in the rebate but thats not to much.

I wouldn't sweat "Windows 8 Certified." That's a gimmick: All brands of cards use the exact same drivers.

Seconded. Windows 8 Certified is a complete gimmick, Nvidia has fully functional Windows 8 32bit and 64 bit drives posted on their site. Whether or not you're able to download a 150MB driver file is another question?

Amount these two which one is good?

Considering the temperature. I live in a room with out AC where ambient temp might go to 32C

I think the MSI is probably the more reliable, well known brand personally. I've owned mostly AMD video cards for the past decade, but I believe you should be able to manually adjust the fan speed on these cards as well. At those temps, its going to run pretty warm and you'll likely need to keep the fan speed much higher. Which means more noise.

I feel your pain on the temperatures. :p I live in a desert, it can hit break 48-50C outdoors here. I've got AC at home, but at those outdoor temps, there's only so much it does. :/

Thank you i worried it was hit the 75C while Galaxy 58C on gpu boost on new egg benchmark.. All we know MSI is boosted more so it will yield in more temp. Hence i'm in SL i'm worried about temps.

You can also likely downclock the core frequencies a lot, when you want it to really idle. Not sure how well Nvidia handles it automatically.

3570k will do fine up to 90c.

Mine runs 90c max @ 90F ambient.
