I think it might be time to buy gold. I'm looking for an investment that I don't have to care about for the next 10-15 years, I figure with the failing dollar, gold might be a good investment. Any ideas on where to buy gold from a reputable seller.

It is only late in the game if you honestly believe the dollar will not be devalued beyond this point, do you see the prices at the pumps dropping dramatically? Silver is a better investment compared to gold, better return the last 5 years and far superior fundamentals.

I searched google, of course, but didn't get any good answers or a bunch of sketchy sites. Also the price from the usmint seemed high. Heres a better deal: http://www.blanchardonline.com...rican_eagle.php#buynow

Won't gold most likely tank again as soon as the dollar rebounds? I don't claim to know when that will happen, but surely it would be sooner than 10-15 years from now.

Also, gold has been a pretty poor investment in the long term. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see a graph comparing the long-term returns of gold to other investments:

If you discount the surge gold experienced after we were removed from the gold standard, the returns would be even worse.

We are in the middle of a commodities bubble and people are looking to jump in.

If I had a Way Back Machine (tm) and dialed back to 2006, I bet I could sell you a McMansion in Florida.

You're better off holding the companies' stock that produce them rather than the commodity itself.
Why would anyone want to invest in GLD when you can invest in Freeport-McMoRan?

That's as stupid as buying the oil commodity when you can invest in National Oilwell Varco, Anadarko petroleum, or PennWest.
